Kadukkai Health Benefits & Uses: Home Remedy for Ear Allergy
Kadukkai is a fruit, from a tree called Terminalia Chebula. The fruit is small and ribbed. We call it "Kadukkai" in Tamil, "Haritaki" in Hindi. Kadukkai is called "Sarvoraga Nivarani" in Ayurveda, meaning it is an universal medicine. Kadukkai is used as a medicine for many diseases in India. In this post, I wanted to share how to use kadukkai for skin allergies in the ears, caused by earrings. Gold and silver earrings doesn't produce any allergies. But metal earrings will not agree with everyone, as some of these metal earrings contain Nickel. Some times if we wear these earrings for longer duration, the earlobes turn itchy, red and swollen. For this problem kadukkai is the best answer. Just take a kadukkai and rub it on the sandal wood stone with little boiled water. You have to rub it hard, as the skin of the kadukkai is hard. The paste is light green in color. Take this paste and apply on the affected area. Usually it gives good relief from pain and swellings due to allergies. Outside India, kadukkai can be found in Indian stores, in the name of "Harde Whole".
1. Wash the sandal wood stone and take a kadukkai and start rubbing it in a circular motion on the sandal wood stone along with little boiled water.
2. The kadukkai rubs into a light green paste.
3. Take the paste and apply it on the affected area.
Kadukkai stores well, so stock up on it, whenever you find it.
If you can only get kadukkai powder, just mix it with water and apply.
