What Is Sea Salt Spray?
Sea salt spray is nothing but a hair spray that contains salt along with other conditioning ingredients. When we spray our hair with sea salt spray and then roll, braid or scrunch it for some time, we get a natural wavy look. You can easily buy sea salt sprays online but it is quite expensive, 200ml bottle costs around 900 rupees on sale! You can easily make it at home and for that amount of money you can make it for all of your friends and family too.
When we make it at home, we can also can customize it to our liking with the fragrance and the base ingredients. For instance, most of the recipes use only water to mix the sea salt in, you can add green tea or chamomile tea or even rose water depending on your mood. You can also mix in herbs either dry or fresh to make it even more effective.
Sea Salt Spray Ingredients:
The main ingredients for making sea salt spray are sea salt, Epsom salt, an oil to condition, essential oil and Aloe Vera gel. Salt is quite drying on the hair that is why we are using both Aloe Vera gel and an oil to counteract it. If you want the sea salt spray to last longer try using pure Aloe Vera gel from the markets.
When you are buying Aloe Vera gel make sure the label says 100% Aloe Vera as most of the marketed gel has some additions to it. Once you get hold of all the ingredients, only thing left is to mix all the ingredients well and make sure the salt is full dissolved.

1. Sea Salt Spray Using Green Tea:
Make a cup of green tea and while it is still warm, add 2 tsp of sea salt and 2 tsp of Epsom salt and let it dissolve. Let it cool and then add 1 tsp of Aloe Vera gel, 1 tsp of coconut oil and 6 drops of your favorite essential oil. Mix and pour it into spray bottles and refrigerate the left overs.
2. Sea Salt Spray Using Rose Water:
Take a cup of rose water, add 2 tsp of powdered sea salt and 2 tsp of Epsom salt and stir to mix well. Add 1 tsp of olive oil and 1 tsp of Aloe Vera gel and 7 drops of rose essential oil, mix well and bottle. This recipe does not need refrigeration.
3. Sea Salt Spray Using Distilled Water:
Take a cup of water and warm it slightly, add 1 tsp of sea salt and 3 tsp of Epsom salt and let it dissolve. Once cool, add a tsp of Aloe Vera gel, 1 tsp of coconut oil, your favorite essential oil and pour into a spray bottle. You can also add your favorite herbs and this recipe also does not need refrigeration.
